David Burnett has covered many momentous events of the last four decades. He co-founded Contact Press Images in 1976, and has worked for all the major news magazines in the United States and Europe. He has been awarded the Magazine Photographer of the Year award from the National Press Photographers Association and in 2009 won prizes in both the Best of Photojournalism competition and the Eyes of History contest sponsored by the White House News Photographers Association.
